Once they have been fired and glazed - these are going to be pendants and possibly magnets.....
I picked up this this beautiful vintage like fabric yesterday and its just begging to become an apron- or two, or three! By the way, the ceramic clown bowl to the left was made by a local ceramic artist. I forgot her name but her work is fabulously whimsical.
I can't wait until my art room is done. I started organizing and rearranging a couple nights ago and so far so good. I can't believe how much ceramic bisque I have. Boxes, boxes and more boxes. I'm thinking I might be able to use some of the pieces for mixed media work and maybe some pastel paintings on some of the plates. I also went online to meetup.com and started 2 local meetups. One for ceramic painters (women only) and I'm thinking hoping desperately, that maybe I'll be able to use up some of the ceramic bisque for the meetups - keeping my fingers crossed! The other group I started is for local Etsy sellers. I'm really looking forward to that one because Etsy is so cool. God, there are so many creative people and I find them all so inspiring. I think it would be neat to meet other local artsy/crafty people and hold monthly get togethers.....Keeping my hopes up for that one, too!
The past few weeks have been pretty good for me creative wise. I've painted several pieces on canvas (acrylics and pastels) and I'm working on more ideas for future projects. Last night I did this really cool picture of me and Molly (teenage daughter) in photoshop and made it look like an old timey black and white that was hand colored. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it, but I have a couple ideas :>
Yesterday after work I stopped by a quilt store in Duluth (Georgia) . I think the name of it is "The Quilt Shop".....The city of Duluth has recently revitalized their downtown area and it looks soooooooo much better than it did. Anyway, the quilt shop is located within one of the brand new -made to look old buildings that's near the park. It was so nice because as I was walking downtown I heard a bunch of children laughing and playing then I saw that they were playing in the play fountain area. Very Cool! As I approached more closely the wonderful smell of summertime-suntan lotion greeted me with a huge hello! I love the smell of suntan lotion......Who doesn't, I mean really! Anyway, the quilt shop......I left there with 15 or so brand new fat quarters. Thinking I'll make a patchwork purse or two. Of course, pursemaking has to wait until after I'm done organizing - Grrrrrr !!!
I have also had so much fun lately visiting the most wonderful blogs. I'm going to be posting them here so that others can oooh and ahhhh.......
